A rare opportunity to buy these highly acclaimed American made ribbon in-wall speakers.

The ideal "partner friendly" home cinema or hifi speaker! designed to be mounted in stud partition wall (or ideal for a custom made "TV Wall" with flat screen 'niche').

This auction is for a pair of the RD-40 model, that were used for 24 hours on an exhibition stand about 10 years ago, then repackaged and stored ever since - so as new!

When they were on sale in the UK, 10 years ago, they retailed at over £2,500 a pair!

Once installed, all that is seen is a white perforated metal grille, slightly curved from left to right, with moulded end caps top and bottom. Overall the grille is 1110mm high by 140mm wide by about 30mm deep in the centre and 10mm at the sides. It could be painted with a fine spray paint.

The transducer (driver) fixes to the wall mounting frame that holds the bezel. A manufacturer supplied and recommended notch filter is included for each driver.

Ideally used with seperate Bass driver(s) these have a very wide (almost 180 degree) horizontal sound dispertion, and are fantastic quality.

These are very well made and heavy (approx 10Kg each) hence there will be a fairly high courier cost. Buyers are welcome to arrange collection from ME19 6AJ or ME15 0EX.

You can collect from me in Brighton or I can post to UK – it is heavy and I will pack it very carefully but of-course I cannot vouch for the postal service I have owned this Rogers amp for around 10 years, during this time it has always produced a fantastic sound and worked perfectly. I have not used it for over a year, as you will see in the photo, the orange light is on, and all the valves lit when I turned it on. So I cannot say it’s in perfect working order, only because I don’t have speakers to test it, but on last use over a year ago it was perfect. I am only selling due to needing funds towards moving home, otherwise there is no way I would say goodbye to this lovely amp.

On the underside of the main amp, it has no base to cover it. As you can see from the photo when its turned over the exposed internal workings are revealed. The gold front has numerous scratches and of-course there are signs of wear on each unit, so if you want something mint as was in 1963, this is not the one for you. But it’s a lovely amp with a beautiful warm sound.

You can also have my Velleman stereo RIAA correction amplifier K2573 kit, which is used for boosting the record player. Any questions let me know and I will do my very best to answer them, but I’m no expert.

Unfortunately I have to sell my speakers as I need to fund my motorcycle test. They are in fantastic condition and have never been used overly loud. The cabinets have a small amount of wear to the base as you would expect from a twenty odd year old pair of speakers. 2 x 8 inch drivers, three and a quarter inch midrange and a two inch dome tweeter in each cab. Very deep rich bass, smooth mids and crisp highs. Metal grilles are intact and have no damage. The tweeters have a db switch. Two glass fuses protect the mid and tweeter. Very efficient and have beautiful clarity for any genre of music. I still have the original ADS boxes they came in.
